When the odds say a team has a 70% chance to win, does that team really win about 70% of the time? This tab checks. Each finished game is sorted by how likely the odds made the favorite, then we compare that chance with how often those favorites actually won.

A point spread levels the field: the favorite has to win by more than the spread, and the underdog can lose by less than it. Beating the spread is called "covering." This tab shows how often different kinds of teams have covered, and the shading shows which groups are doing better or worse than a coin flip.
